Grinding Ball Packaging and Container Loading Guide
Compare steel drums and bulk bags, calculate payload and reduce damage, moisture and unloading risk.
Choose packaging for the handling system
Steel drums suit forklift handling, controlled discharge and long outdoor storage when properly sealed. One-tonne bulk bags reduce packaging cost and loading time but require certified lifting loops, dry storage and suitable hoists. Confirm the buyer’s unloading equipment before ordering.
Calculate payload before booking
Container payload is limited by the lower of the carrier rating, local road limits and port rules. Include the weight of drums, pallets, liners and securing materials—not only the grinding balls. Keep weight evenly distributed and confirm the verified gross mass before shipment.
Control movement and moisture
Dense steel balls create concentrated loads. Use sound floors, blocking, bracing and anti-slip materials so packages cannot shift. Dry balls and packaging before sealing; add suitable moisture protection for long sea routes and avoid direct contact with standing water.
Specify marks and receiving checks
Each package should show supplier, product, diameter, batch, net and gross weight, package number and handling marks. On arrival, inspect seals, corrosion, torn bags, deformed drums and weight discrepancies before unloading, then link findings to the batch certificate and packing list.
