Forged or cast balls: define the requirement
State whether the enquiry concerns a ball mill or SAG mill, the required diameter and your operating specification or standard. The catalogue includes forged and rolled balls at 20–150 mm and chromium-alloy cast balls at 15–150 mm. These ranges do not make every product suitable for every mill: material, hardness, toughness and testing must be agreed for the intended application.
Make technical comparisons verifiable
Ask each supplier for the same information: dimensional tolerance, required composition, hardness test method and measurement locations, lot identification and acceptance criteria. For an industrial trial, agree quantity, duration and comparison conditions beforehand. Compare consumption in kg/t together with throughput and ground-product quality; an isolated wear figure is insufficient to evaluate a quotation.
Separate port arrival, inland delivery and use date
For a project in Chile, specify the requested port or delivery point and the final plant location. State whether the quotation should include sea transport alone or the inland leg as well, and who coordinates unloading. Request separate production, inspection and transport schedules. Arrival at port is not the same as material ready for use at the plant; confirm scope and included charges in every quotation.

They depend on specification, quantity, packaging and destination and require a quotation. Is a wear saving guaranteed? No universal percentage is offered: agree a comparable trial before adopting a new product.
